Twin Valley Regional Water Treatment
Description
The Twin Valley Regional Water Coop water treatment system delivers potable water, through a regional pipeline, to the Town of Vulcan, Village of Carmangay and the Village of Champion.
The raw water source for the water plant is the Twin Valley reservoir. Water is pumped from the reservoir into on-site holding ponds.
The old water treatment plant had trouble treating the source water for taste and odour issues. The design of the new water treatment plant was to meet all regulatory requirements and to treat the raw water for elimination of taste and odour concerns.
Treated water is piped to the remote communities of Carmangay and Champion. Control and monitoring stations were installed at these locations for display on the SCADA system located in Vulcan.
Sim-Flo Systems Inc. And CDM Mechanical were the successful design build team selected to provide design and construction services for this project.
