Lakewood Lift Station
Description
The Lakewood Lift Station services a new development area within the Town of Strathmore. There is no economical means to transfer sewage from the lift station to the sewage treatment plant either by forcemain or gravity sewer. The solution to this problem is to provide sewage effluent storage on site and to pump into an existing nearby sewage lift station.
The existing lift station has excess capacity that varies throughout the day. A monitoring syste has been installed that will determine the excess capacity of the existing lift station and allow the new Lakewood lift station to pump at safe pumping rates as determined by the monitoring system.
Communications between the existing lift station and the Lakewood lift station is done using radios.
The monitoring system also logs data on a continuous basis and sends the data to an offsite location over the internet for further analysis.
