Arthur A Youngman Water Plant
Description
The West Siksika regional water treatment plant is designed to supply potable water to the Siksika, North Camp, Stobart Lake and West End townsites.
The West Siksika water plant diverts water from the Bow River. Water is treated using a conventional treatment system which consists of chemical injection, flash mixing flocculation, settling and filtration. The treated water is then chlorinated and falls into a baffled clear well system. the combination of chlorine residual and baffling provides the chlorine contact time to inactivate giardia, cryptosporidium and viruses.
